GARRY MCIVOR

Garry McIver was born in Northam, W.A. He was trained and qualified as a Certified Practising Accountant in Kalgoorlie, with a particular focus on advising and serving small businesses. He also holds a B.Bus., MA (Leadership and Management).

 

The call of married life to Lawreen, a widow with 2 great children, and an opportunity to work in New Zealand took Garry on a 19 year working journey with Sanitarium Health Food Company in N.Z, Sth Aust, NSW and WA.

 

Garry also spent 2 years as a Christian Bookshop manager, which gave him a love for connecting with people.

 

From mid 1996 until full time retirement at the end of 2014, Garry was General Secretary and Chief Financial Officer for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Prescott School System in South Australia. This role involved work with ministry and with a growing school system. 

 

Eventually, retirement to Bunbury/Dalyellup was a great choice. There will also be an anticipated last move to Rossmoyne Waters Retirement Village in the Australis appartments for Garry and his wife.

Garry joined the Board of Manna in the second half of 2016 as Treasurer, and is also Manna's Principal Executive Officer under the Charitable Collections Act 1947.
